“When arts meets acrylics” that was the title that our Partner Pioneer, an expert on manufacturing acrylic resins gave to their latest collaboration.
It took place at the European coating show (ECS), last month of March, and it consisted of a collaboration with the graffiti artist Keith Biele, better known as TEACHR
Teacher according to his Facebook page is a former studio artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree who turned streetartist to protest the cuts in education budgets. He’s based in Los Angeles, but his work has appeared on walls and billboards all over the country.
He is well known in the world of street art, and considered to be one of the top graffiti artists in the United States. The theme of his art is focused mostly on education and children.
For this collaboration TEACHR work with some acrylic embedment (plexiglass) art pieces using Pioneer products to display at their booth on the European coating show.
He also made some walls and canvas paintings to showcase Pioneer’s BM66 for aerosol spray application.
The BM66 is a copolymer of methyl methacrylate and n-butyl methacrylate. It offers hard heat resistance and durability. It also fasts tack-free time, very good dry and wet adhesion to many plastic substrates like acrylic, ABS, PVC, and polystyrene, etc.
BM66 is very compatible with many solvents and nitrocellulose and commonly used in applications of marine coating, plastic coating, gravure inks, and silk screen printing inks.
