We have recently introduced to the coatings market the new range of oxide converters ASCOTRUST, from the manufacturer of corrosion inhibitors and our represented ASCOTEC.
ASCOTRUST-X1 is added to waterborne, free of tannic acid, coatings directly applied on rusted or poor-prepared ferrous substrates. It ensures an effective blocking effect on residual rust, and avoids its migration through the fresh paint film.
Its passivation properties on rust allow maintaining good anticorrosion performances of the coatings, despite the adverse substrate conditions.
It doesn’t compromise the coating anticorrosion performance on non-rusted substrates.
ASCOTRUST-X1 is mainly designed for waterborne white or colored pigmented coatings, based on various binder technologies: acrylic, alkyd, epoxy, PU…
It is recommended to use an organic-type anticorrosion agent when ASCOTRUST-X1 is added to a metal paint formulation.
